The first is an intelligently done parody on BET culture and an attempt to use humor to address some serious lifestyle flaws in our society.
The second is two embarrassingly men attempting to insult the artists who created it, artist who's goal (among other things) was to get parents involved in what children watch on tv. The news man goes as far to condemn him for wanting to get parents to discuss these issues with their children.
I wont go into too much detail, the videos speak for themselves, but the fact that the media will do anything to villainize anyone who is trying to help (aka fight them) has never been more appent to me.
12 year old's don't understand satire? How fucking dumb where you at the age of 12? I guess that doesn't surprise me, as apparently there are grown men who still don't get it.
All I can say is to the creators of this music video, nicely done my friends. You attempted to expose some issues in BET and ended up shining the light of day on an media monster that is just as infectious to your children, CNN.
Devious Comments
And yes, we gotta do something about our own incestuous white trash trailer-dwellers that are bringing OUR property values down.
Anyhoo, I'd seen this video and report about a year ago or so already. At first I believed that CNN anchor was, as one YouTube commenter said, an "uppity [455] mofo [who] took the whole video out of context..." (bracketed edits mine).
But on second observation, I noticed this anchor's just trying to goad the artists and try to stir the pot just to foment something on the air. He was trying to be a politically correct Bill O' Reilly. His "outrage" is an act; there's nothing we viewers should get riled over here.
On the video. Of course, I'd'a put warning signs around "Read A Book" in case the tender tots are watching. But hey, if they ARE watching this unattended, I think the parents need the wake up call the worst of all. And if the Mas and Dads ARE upset about the raw language and content, then maybe they ARE doing their jobs as parents, and this vid doesn't apply.
Anyhow, the CNN report? Yawn. "Read A Book"?
